Jinception

Fast, but foundational.
Careful with cash. Bold with bets.

Who we are, how we work with companies, and every company in the portfolio: the problem it solves, how it works, who's behind it and who we want to meet.

How we think

Speed matters. So does what it stands on.

Fail fast, on a foundation

Clean, modular systems let us pivot or swap parts without starting over.

Runway is strategy

Low fixed costs. No single bet can sink the company.

Many bold bets

Test with real buyers. Cut weak ideas early. Double down on evidence.

How we work with companies

A technical partner that takes equity instead of full fees.

Jinception acts as a fractional CTO. Companies pay a lower monthly fee for development and technical management, and we take a share of equity or revenue in return.

1

Open the door

We start with what drives cash flow: a website, an app, light marketing. It shows a brand what we can do.

2

Earn trust

We take over their technology and run it, from simple sites to LLMs and video models.

3

Share the upside

Lower monthly fees in exchange for a portion of equity or revenue.

ResultMore deal flow, and stakes in founding and scaling companies for far less capital.

The portfolio

Eight companies. One technical engine.

Jinception builds and runs the technology for every company below. Klonos markets all of them.

Jinception

Operating

A fractional CTO that gets paid partly in equity.

Problem
Good businesses stall without a technical team, and hiring one is slow and expensive.
What we do
We act as the company's CTO: we build, run and manage its technology, plus light marketing.
Model
A lower monthly fee for development and technical management, in exchange for equity or revenue share.
Why it works
Building first opens the door and earns trust. That trust brings new clients and new deals, and we gain stakes while spending less capital.

  • Websites & apps
  • Payments & portals
  • CRM & dashboards
  • Automation
  • LLMs

YBJ

Forming

Limited downside. Uncapped upside.

What it is
A venture studio in early discussion between three partners. Two of them have built and exited their own companies for tens of millions of dollars or more, and they mentor our team.
Plan
Close a few deals over the next few months as proof, then raise a fund on that track record.

Klonos

In market

Massive top-line reach without the ad bill.

Problem
Ads are expensive. Most AI video tools make short clips that still need stitching together and editing.
Solution
One fully automated system that writes, generates and posts finished videos, calls to action included. Nobody edits anything.
How it learns
It reads how each platform's public algorithm responds and improves the next videos on its own.
We own it
Our own voice, video and image models, and the hardware they run on.
For us
Klonos is the free content creator and marketer for every company in the portfolio, building reach and trust for each brand.

What we seekHigh-ticket businesses that buy reach, like the law firms on billboards that want to be top of mind after an accident.
NovaStasis
Crews, jobs and status on one simple board.

04Work OS

NovaStasis

Live

Task tracking simple enough for any crew.

Origin
Built to run our own work across Jinception clients, internal projects and investments.
Problem
Real estate firms juggle subcontractors for cleaning, repairs and maintenance. Jira and similar tools are too heavy on scrum to help.
Proof
A real estate firm now runs its subcontractors on NovaStasis. It fit because it's clean and simple.
Model
A very low subscription, so we can get into as many firms as possible and become part of their infrastructure.
Long game
Build an audience in the trades: electricians, plumbers, cleaners. That's the distribution Jobly lacked when we tried to bring on-demand booking to those services.

Pickup Buddi

Profitable

Uber-style afterschool pickup and short-term care.

Problem
Nannies want full-day work. Most parents only need a few hours of cover after school.
Solution
We pair people with flexible schedules (vetted student Buddis) with parents whose schedules aren't. Buddis walk children home or to their next activity.
Price
About $30 an hour.
Trust
  • Background checked
  • Interviewed and vetted

Growth
Today: flyers, word of mouth and Facebook. Next: B2B partnerships, such as employee-benefit programs, to grow faster.

06Ophthalmology AIBrazil

EyeQuno

Under review

Faster eye diagnosis for overloaded hospitals.

Problem
Our partner hospitals in Brazil have long waits: too few specialists, and too many patients with eye disease, much of it caused by diabetes.
Solution
Automate diagnosis from retinal scans taken on the hospitals' own machines, flagging diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma and other common diseases. A doctor approves every result.

One day of check-ins, illustrated. Clinicians see the whole curve.

CopeDBT

Launching this winter

Mood check-ins all day, not once a day.

Problem
A single daily check-in hides how a patient's mood moves through the day.
Solution
A simple tracker for check-ins throughout the day, so clinicians can follow a patient's mood as it changes.
Features
  • Mood check-ins
  • Pattern insights
  • Private journal
  • Coping activities
  • Therapist approval portal
Launch

The graveyard

Bets we archived. Kept on the record.

Archived bets should be cheap and teach us something. We keep the code, the contracts and a written postmortem.

Archived

Jobly

2025 – 2026

On-demand booking for skilled trades in metro Boston.

Lesson: we needed distribution first. NovaStasis is now building it.

Archived

SellSonic

2025 – 2026

Lead intelligence and call routing for insurance buyers.

Lesson: partner fit matters as much as the idea. We needed a partner with more drive and fewer outside distractions.

Archived

Aldalife

Earlier concept

Digital preservation of loved ones who have passed away. Inspired by the loss of Justin's mentor.

Lesson: the idea was early. Most people weren't comfortable with it or ready for it yet.

Culture

Eight rules. All written down.

The short version of our operating playbook, for anyone joining a team in the portfolio.

Speak up early.

Flag a risk the day you see it.

Try, then ask.

About 15 minutes stuck, then escalate with what you tried.

Write it down.

Decisions and notes live in NovaStasis, not in DMs.

Show your status.

DoneIn progressBlockedNext

Done means it works.

End to end, and tested by a reviewer.

Own mistakes.

Admit them early, then fix the system that allowed them.

Disagree, then commit.

Argue while the decision is open. Execute once it's made.

Keep your word.

If a deadline will slip, renegotiate before it arrives.
